• Class “A” Barber certificate – A Class “A” barber certificate is required to operate as a barber in Texas. If you are interested in becoming a barber, our comprehensive Class “A” certificate class will cover all of the basics. From trimming hair and beards to hair and scalp care, coloring and dyeing hair, and more, you will learn everything you need to know and earn your class “A” certificate in our comprehensive, 50-week program.
• Cosmetology Operator to Class “A” Barber Program – If you are a licensed cosmetologist and would also like to begin barbering in Texas, this program is ideal for you. It consists of 300 hours of coursework over 10 weeks, after which time you will receive your Class “A” barber certification.
• Barber Instructor licensing – Want to become a barber instructor? We offer both the Barber Instructor 500 and Barber Instructor 750 programs at Invictus Career College, so you can take your talents and start using them to teach others the art of barbering.

Training in Dallas While You Live in Plano

Plano sits in Collin County, north of our Dallas campus, and the drive down US-75 or the Dallas North Tollway is a familiar one for our students. Because Texas barber and cosmetology licensing is clock-hour based, the hands-on part of your training has to happen on campus, so the commute is worth planning around before you enroll.

Students who travel in from the Legacy West area, downtown Plano, or the neighborhoods around Plano ISD generally build their schedule around the traffic rather than against it. Our admissions team can talk through which class times work best for a northern commute.

How do Plano students get to the Dallas campus?

Most students drive south on US-75, the Central Expressway, or take the Dallas North Tollway and connect through I-635. Choosing a class schedule that avoids peak traffic makes the trip a lot easier.

Can I train as a barber while living in Plano?

Yes. Texas barber licensing is clock-hour based and hands-on, so the training itself happens on campus, but plenty of our students live in Plano and the northern suburbs.
