Barber School in Dallas, TX
Train for a Class A Barber license minutes from downtown Dallas
Dallas keeps barbers busy. Between Deep Ellum, Oak Cliff, Bishop Arts and the Uptown corridor, the city supports one of the densest barbershop scenes in Texas – and shops here hire licensed barbers faster than schools can graduate them. If you have been thinking about leaving a job that goes nowhere for a trade you actually own, barbering is one of the few careers in Dallas you can train for in under a year and practise anywhere in the state.
Invictus Career College trains Dallas-area students for the Texas Class A Barber license. Our campus sits just east of the city in Mesquite, a straight run down I-30 from downtown Dallas, so students from Pleasant Grove, White Rock, Garland and Balch Springs commute in without fighting cross-town traffic.
What you learn in our Dallas-area barber program
The Class A Barber curriculum covers far more than clipper work. You will train in shears and razor cutting, fades and tapers, beard sculpting and straight-razor shaving, hair and scalp analysis, chemical services, colour, sanitation and infection control, and the Texas laws and rules you are tested on for licensure. Just as importantly, you will train on real clients on a working floor, because there is no substitute for the pace of a live chair.
Texture matters in a city as diverse as Dallas. Our students learn to cut curly and coily hair properly – sectioning, dry-cutting and tension control – not just the textures that are easy to fade.
Barbering as a business, not just a job
Most working barbers in Dallas rent a chair or own one. That means your income depends on your book, your rebooking rate and your ability to run yourself like a small business. We build that in: pricing, retail, client retention, and the practical steps to open your own barbershop when you are ready.
Cost, financial aid and getting started
Tuition is published, not quoted behind a phone call – see program cost and fees. Invictus participates in federal financial aid programs, and we work with veterans using their education benefits. Review financial aid options, or run the net price calculator to see what your actual cost would be.
Serving Dallas and the surrounding metroplex
We enrol students from across the metroplex, including Mesquite, Plano and Carrollton. Whether you are coming from downtown Dallas, Richardson, Irving or Rowlett, you are within a reasonable drive of the campus.
