RESOURCES<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Education is a big investment. The\ntraining you\u2019ll receive at Bucker Barber School increases your chance of\nfinding a great career. And it decreases your chance of being unemployed. You\nwill be more likely to find an interesting, rewarding career in a field that\noffers a lot of opportunity. When you graduate from BBS, you stand a better\nchance of finding a job and making more money than your peers with less\neducation. Combine that with greater opportunities for job satisfaction, and\nyour BBS training becomes an investment that is hard to beat. Below are some of\nthe resources available to students to help with the cost of their education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Financial Aid is available to those who qualify;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

FEDERAL PELL GRANTS<\/strong>\nare monies given to people to help pay for school awarded based on financial\nneed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DIRECT LOANS<\/strong> are\nborrowed monies through the U.S Department of Education that must be repaid\n(with interest)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DIRECT SUBSIDIZED LOANS<\/strong>\nare awarded to student who show financial need and don\u2019t accrue interest while\nthe student is in school. You have six months grace period after you graduate,\nwithdraw or drop below half-time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DIRECT UNSUBSIDIZED LOANS<\/strong> are available to all student, regardless of financial need. Interest\ndoes accrue on this loan while the student is in school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DIRECT PLUS LOANS<\/strong> are\nonly available for parents of Dependent Student. Financial need is not a\nconsideration, but a credit check is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PRIVATE\/ALTERNATIVE LOANS<\/strong> can provide additional funding to assist student with their education.\nThese are generally provided by banks and credit unions and other private\nlending institution. Information on these loans can be found on the web at a\nsite like www.fastweb.com<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SCHOLARSHIPS<\/strong> are\nprovided by some companies, professional associations, and religious groups to\nindividuals or their family members seeking assistance paying for their\neducation. Searching the internet is a great way to see what might be available\nto you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

STATE GRANTS<\/strong> are available\nthrough the Texas Department of Assistive & Rehabilitation Services (DARS)\nwhich assists people who have disabilities prepare for, find and keep jobs. To\nlocate an office in your area visit: www.dars.state.tx.us<\/a> or call 1-800-628-5115.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
